Co-Active: A New Leadership Story
Top-down, one-dimensional leadership models are hopelessly outmoded in today’s rapidly changing world, and they waste the leadership ability that is present throughout an organization. Based on his research and experience as a coach, Henry Kimsey-House and his wife, Karen, have developed a revolutionary, five-dimensional approach that recognizes a need for leadership to be fluid and flexible, and explores how the roles leaders and followers play must shift to suit the situation.
Co-active leadership invites all of us to share our expertise and allows collaborative solutions to emerge that would never have been possible otherwise, and that’s exactly what Henry wants you to do during his talk. You will have the opportunity to participate in exercises that will help you define your strengths and identify areas for development.
The co-active leadership model harnesses the possibility of many, rather than relying on the power of one.
One of the first professional coaches in the 1980s, Henry Kimsey-House is the Co-founder and lead designer of the thought-provoking, experiential learning programs of CTI and the co-author of Co-Active Coaching, the best-selling industry bible, now in its third edition. An actor since age nine, Kimsey-House honed his insights into human emotion and the narrative process through classical theatrical training and years of stage, television and film experience. With deep conviction that education should be driven by immersive, contextually based learning Henry is committed to creating richly engaging and transformative learning environments and continues to develop new, innovative curriculum and collaborate with other dynamic thought leaders. He lives with his wife, Karen Kimsey-House, on the coast of northern California.
